Marla, Thanks once again. "Cactus"–that is a very obvious point and I admit makes a lot of sense….I guess I did not realize those stats were for unmatched donors only although that is what that site is all about so it should be obvious.I still feel that there is a lot more to be considered than the 70 to 90% success rates. Marla opened my eyes to the fact there are a lot of other complications besides GVHD..Although I knew about the infection risks and did read also about increased chances of cancer following a bone marrow transplant…Sometimes the information just gets kind of blurred and its nice to have someone speak loud and clear.I am still not sure which course of action we will be taking, hopefully none. Once again we are a little further between transfusions. Yesterdays counts were HGB 6.4, white at 1.9 (800 neutrophils) and platelets are still improving at 15,000 from Neumega so he will probably not get blood (red cells) until next Tuesday (will be two weeks). All of your input, the good, the bad and ugly helps a lot…….Thanks, Laura
