Hi Marlene: Yes I DO remember what a big deal it was to not to have platelet transfusions! In the beginning I wanted NORMAL platelet levels. Then after bags and bags and bags of platelets I settled for, "If I could only make 10K on my own, I'll be happy." Ta ha! So definitely congrats there! Re: the juicing. Glad to hear that you found a blend that works for you. In the beginning I had some pretty horrible concoctions, too. I remember one was so bad (it had kale and parsley, etc.) I was literally spewing it out everywhere. I told my husband that I couldn't drink that cuz if the AA didn't kill me, then that juice mix would! Ha! I was literally heaving in the sink thinking that I was sure to burst some blood vessels in my head or lungs or throat. So, yes, you have to find something that you can handle. I did lots and lots of juicing, but these days I rarely juice anymore, and my counts seem to be holding pretty well. The reason behind the change is that I currently feel that a recovery/healing diet likely doesn't have to be the same as a "maintance" diet. (at the time I was literally trying to pack as much nutrition in me as possible from natural whole food sources). So, I'm not as strict now as when I was transfusion dependent. But, I am still experimenting with various nutritional approaches and still careful to eat quality foods. Oh, one other thing. I found that using a strainer to catch and separate any big clumps and the excess foam from the juice helped to make the juice tastier. The juice was smoother, and you didn't have all the "grit." I don't know how you feel about it, but during that latter part of my juicing I started to add raw unpasturized whole cream to the juice blend. It made it creamy and tasted even better. Plus, it was supposed to help assimilate the fat soluble vitamins. Well anyways, congrats again! Marla
